What is the Reach the Lost pillar?
It is the Pillar that focuses on sharing the Gospel of Jesus with those who have not professed a faith in Jesus. Jesus commissioned us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We Glorify God in this pillar by:
Developing an understanding of Biblical instruction on reaching the lost.
Engaging in deliberately planned and spontaneous opportunities for reaching the lost.
Actively participating in reaching the lost in every aspect of our Every-Day Ordinary Lives.
- Conduct a study on these Scriptures: Mt 28:19-20, Mk 16:15, Acts 20:24, Ps 105, 1 Pet 3:15, Rm 10:17, Jn 3:16
- In-person meeting: Review curriculum and get to know one another
- Zoom mtg 1: Debunk myths; Discuss how to get more comfortable communicating and building relationships
- Develop a list of 5 people in your sphere of influence who have not professed faith in Jesus; pray over this list
- Spend the next two months enjoying Love Does or Everybody Always for encouraging examples of loving others in different ways as a means of demonstrating Jesus
- Do a study on evangelism, Great Commission, and reaching the lost using https://www.gotquestions.org/
Apply what you learned to deliberately planned and spontaneous evangelism.
- Work to memorize these Scriptures: Mt. 28:19-20, Mk 16:15, Acts 20:24
- Zoom mtg 2: Share testimonies with one another; Discuss how to intentionally guide conversations
- Exchange list of 5 people in your sphere of influence w/ someone else in the pillar – pray over that list all month
- Demonstrate love to each person on your personal list of 5 people within your sphere
- Deliberately plan to share your testimony with two believing friends/family by month’s end
- Continue study on evangelism, Great Commission, and reaching the lost using https://www.gotquestions.org/
Engage in reaching the lost in your Every-day Ordinary Life.
- Work to memorize these Scriptures: Ps 105, 1 Pet 3:15, Rm 10:17, Jn 3:16
- Zoom mtg 3: Role play scenarios
- Attempt to guide conversations happening in your everyday life toward Reaching the Lost intentions
- Pray before you move (ask God to guide your steps and lead you to those who need to hear the Gospel message)
- If conversation(s) end up on church or Jesus, invite that person to FM or consider another church that may better suit their needs and attend a service with them.
- Come alongside anyone in your sphere of influence who expresses interest in taking their next steps toward Christ
- Continue study on evangelism, Great Commission, and reaching the lost using https://www.gotquestions.org/
