KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE
WEEK OF DECEMBER 23, 2024
FMC PRAYER: Lord, we lift up our priorities as a congregation. Give us ears to hear what Your Spirit is saying to our church. Open our eyes to see things as You see them. Help us move beyond issues of immediate need to pursuing Kingdom focused issues. May ‘Your kingdom come, Your will be done – on earth as it is in heaven’ be a phrase that we utter with sincerity and true conviction.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Metanoia – Repentance 4 ~ Romans 2:14-41; various from Revelation
FMC ENDSTATE: Throughout the Tri-State Region & Beyond…the commandments of God are obeyed – Father, we come before You with humble hearts, acknowledging the greatness of Your commands. You have shown us the Way, and Your Word offers us guidance through every step as we draw closer to You.
Lord, we know that true life and peace are found in obedience to Your commandments. They are not burdens, but a path to righteousness, freedom, and love.
Help us to always remember that obeying You is an act of love. As Jesus taught us, we are called to love You with all our heart, soul, and mind, and to love our neighbors as ourselves. These commandments are not just rules to follow, but reflections of Your very nature—holy, just, merciful, and kind.
ADVENT FOCUS: Heavenly Father, we thank You for the powerful visions You revealed to Your servant John, and for the message of hope, warning, and repentance that echoes through the pages of Revelation. Lord, as we read of the visions that John saw—of Your holiness, Your justice, and Your ultimate victory—we are reminded of Your sovereign reign over all things. We stand in awe of Your glory and power, and we humbly acknowledge that You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.
Lord, let the visions of Revelation be more than words on a page to us. May they pierce our hearts, convict us of our sin, and stir a deep desire for true repentance. Open our eyes to the areas of our lives where we have allowed sin to take root, where we have strayed from Your commandments, or where we have grown lukewarm in our faith. Help us to recognize the urgency of turning back to You before the time of judgment comes.
May the message of Revelation not only call us to repentance but also inspire us to live with a sense of hope and anticipation for the day when Christ will return in glory. We long for the day when He will make all things new, wipe away every tear, and bring justice and peace to the earth. Until that day, may we be faithful witnesses, sharing Your message of repentance and grace with a world in desperate need of both.
In Jesus’ name, we ask these things – Amen.
STUDENTS: Lord, wherever our students interact with their peers, we pray that You would protect them from any illness and its effects. Father, our bodies are good gifts, wonderfully made, and we pray that You would guard their health, for their protection and the protection of those around them.
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 139:14 “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.”
CARE: God Almighty – Your throne sits high above the dirt and decay of the world You have made, and yet – You choose to live among us, dwelling in our hearts and minds, acting through our fingers, toes, and voices. Like the Israelites in the wilderness, we can be continually lost in translation – so we humbly fall face down before You now – asking You to heal our brokenness and lead us back to the promised land, a life in constant communication with Your Spirit. You clothe us in garments that do not decay, so we ask that You would bring warmth and peace to those who desperately need Your physical touch today. In Your Son’s blessed name – we ask all these things. Amen.
