KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE
WEEK OF DECEMBER 9
, 2024

FMC PRAYER: Father, we lift up those who are hurting right now. May they come to know You as El Roi, the God who sees them. For every situation of rejection, help them to remember their place in Your Kingdom – as Your beloved children. Bind up the brokenhearted! In every area of bondage, set the captives free; in every case of mourning, replace it with Your oil of gladness. Comfort them so that they will have a ministry of comfort to others.

SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Metanoia – Repentance 2 ~ Matthew 4:12-22

FMC ENDSTATE: Throughout the Tri-State Region & Beyond…the grace of God is cherished…the gift that we do not deserve but were freely given. Lord, may we never underestimate what a powerful gift grace is – when we fall and fail in our every day ordinary lives, thank You for gently reminding us how powerful and accepting Your love is. Help us to exemplify Your character as we extend grace to those we encounter each day, for the Glory of Your Name alone.

ADVENT FOCUS: This week of Advent we reflect on the message Jesus proclaimed – “Repent, for the Kingdom of heaven is at hand” (Matthew 4:17). In this time of preparation, we remember how You called Simon and Andrew, James and John, from their nets to follow You. May our hearts be strengthened by their example – to assuredly leave behind the things that hold us back from following You more closely.

We repent of the times we have chosen comfort over obedience, when we have clung to the things of this world rather than responding to Your invitation. Forgive us, Lord, for the times we have failed to prioritize Your Kingdom and Your righteousness.

Help us to share the light of Your Kingdom, to live as witnesses of Your love, and to follow where You lead. May this Advent be a time of deepening our devotion, of hearing Your call more clearly, and of answering You with lives marked by repentance, faith, and obedience.

STUDENTS: Lord, we pray…that You will grant our students love for one another; joy in the midst of chaos; peace that surpasses all understanding; patience as they constantly deal with change; kindness to those around them; goodness for You alone are good; gentleness as they remember Christ’s humanity and how He treated those around Him; and self-control as they put on the armor of God every day.

SCRIPTURE: Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.”

CARE: Father, as we navigate the twists and turns of each day, help me to pause and see beyond my own needs and to recognize the struggles and pains of those around me. Grant me the insight to understand the silent cries for help, whether they come from a friend, a neighbor, or a stranger passing by. Give me the patience to listen, really listen, to the stories and worries shared with me, and please give me wisdom to offer comfort and support. Help me extend a nurturing hand to those who are hurting, and be a beacon of kindness in a world that can often feel harsh and unforgiving. Please bless me with the strength to be a source of light and love in a world that so desperately needs it.
