KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 27, 2024
FMC PRAYER: Freedom from Besetting Sins – may their eyes be opened to see the enemy’s scheme of condemnation. Help us to see our own sin the same way that You do and immediately turn from the desires of our flesh. Thank You that the power of sin was conquered at the cross and that we are no longer slaves to it. Help us to throw off everything that entangles and hinders us so that we may run our race with perseverance, strength, and joy in Your presence with us.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 7:17-8:20 ~ The Gift of Memory
FMC ENDSTATE: Throughout the Tri-State Region & Beyond…the holiness of God is revered…God, You are absolute perfection. A concept that our minds will never fully understand until we stand in Your presence. Your very being is completely absent of sin (James 1:13). You are high above any other, and no one can compare to You (Psalm 40:5). Your holiness shapes all Your attributes. Your love is a holy love, Your mercy is a holy mercy, and even Your anger and wrath are holy. These are difficult concepts, but we trust that You will be faithful to help us understand them more and more as we seek the truth in scripture each and every day.
INVISIBLE CHURCH: Lord, lead me in building others up with the gifts and opportunities you have given me. Forgive me for having a “me first” mentality at church. Help me put others first and seek to use the spiritual gifts You have graciously entrusted to me to build others up. Guide me in my interactions so that others are blessed and Your name is glorified. Show me who to talk to, where to sit, and how to encourage others with Scripture. Help me be a channel of encouragement as we see the Day drawing near.
STUDENTS: FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT ~ Lord, we pray for the students as they wrestle with the Truth of the gospel and the deceptive ways of this world. We ask for protection as they are constantly bombarded with social media – we pray that Your Truth would penetrate their hearts and steady their beliefs and resolve. Strengthen them as they fight the good fight of faith.
SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 4:3-5 ~ For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
CARE: Lord, bless the elderly/OWLS (old wise living seniors) in our lives with companionship, health, happiness, and JOY in their golden years. We are all in different stages of this journey called life – and this week, may we marvel and appreciate the beauty of Your plan in uniting us all under the sacrifice and love of Your Son. May Your OWLS always feel valued and cherished for the wisdom they carry. As we think of them, we ask that You grant them the strength to continue their journey with dignity, grace, and patience. Thank You for our OWLS Lord – may Your glory shine in their lives each and every day until they are called home – to Your glorious name be all the praise.
