KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF DECEMBER 25, 2023
FMC PRAYER: Lord, we lift up our entire congregation to You. Open our eyes to recognize where you have placed us and how we can best serve You each and every day. As we learn to respond to Your calling, may we realize our every purpose and every faith-filled act of service is fulfilled by Your power alone. May our knees become bruised and battered from humbly submitting to You in prayer as we walk in love with one another, clothed in Your righteousness and longing for to see Your Kingdom come.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: John 1:14-18
FMC ENDSTATE: Throughout the Tri-State Region & Beyond…the goodness of God is relished…
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!
You have set your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes,
to still the enemy and the avenger.
When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,
what is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him?
Yet you have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth! (PS8)
INVISIBLE CHURCH: Father, deepen my faith and joy in the glories of your gospel. Lord, you know the multitude of sins I have committed in my life and even this past week. Help me hate my sin more and grow in grace as I contemplate what Christ has done to forgive me and free me from sin’s death grip. Open the eyes of my heart to see the glorious hope we have in Christ, your love for all of the saints, and your power at work in us who believe. Cause my heart to burn within me as we celebrate the gospel in song, learn and apply the gospel through the preached Word, and see the gospel’s transforming power in baptism and communion.
STUDENTS: Peace: Lord, give our students Your peace. We pray that You will lead them to take every single thing they are worried about to You in prayer, so that Your peace, which passes all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds in You. May they rest in your goodness and the certainty of your eternal promises.
SCRIPTURE: Philippians 4:6-7 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”
