KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 18, 2023
FMC PRAYER: Father, help us to love one another as a body of believers, recognizing that we are a representation of Your eternal Kingdom. May our love for one another prove that we are Your children as we rid ourselves of the sinful nature of this world by obeying the Truth of the gospel. Teach us what it means to love one another with a sincere, deep, and biblical love. Give us a spirit of unity so that we may glorify You with one heart and one voice.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 5:15-17
FMC VALUE: Value 6 – Build the bench: To reach the Tri-State Region & Beyond, we must be committed to reproducing ourselves exponentially. We must constantly strive to lead more and do less. None of us are the Lone Ranger. Instead, we’re looking to build a team of people to serve alongside us, so we can multiply our skills and expertise. Similarly, we must be able to scale our processes and systems so that we can accommodate the growing body of Christ who are called to serve: we must build redundancy into our capability so that there is no single point of failure on the team.
INVISIBLE CHURCH: Lord, equip us for our mission on this earth. As we have learned over this past year, we are not saved by our good works, but for good works (Ephesians 2:8-10). Focus our hearts on the mission You have for us – to share the gospel and make fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ in the Tri-state region and beyond. Remind us how our marriages, family lives, work, and hobbies can be avenues to adorn the gospel through our proclamation and Christ-exalting lifestyles. Use our time as your gathered body to build us up and send us out for ministry, in the power of Your Spirit, to this sin-filled broken world.
PILLAR: Pillar 11: Build Each Other Up in Christ (exhort/affirm/encourage/peacemaker) Pray that FMC does not sit in judgement on anyone’s situation; instead, pray that our friendships would be strengthened with the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit – as we stand beside you, no matter what you are going through.
PRACTICE: Listen and ask questions this week. Pray for those ‘hard to love’ people in your life and the encounters you will have with them. When complaints and judgements start to surface in conversation, humbly ask questions to find the source of the problem.
