KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 6, 2023
FMC PRAYER: Lord, we lift up the people who work behind the scenes at our church. Thank You for every volunteer who has devoted themselves to the service of the kingdom here at Four Mile. Bless them for their obedience and generosity they have displayed—may You receive praise as a result! Keep them in an attitude of humility that comes from wisdom and wholehearted service to You rather than to be noticed by others.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Genesis 1:31-2:3
DESIRED ENDSTATE: Throughout the Tri-State Region & Beyond… the Glory of God is honored, intimacy with Jesus is treasured, the Holy Spirit’s fruit ripens in believers’ lives, the holiness of God is revered, the goodness of God is relished, the truth of God is pursued, the faithfulness of God is trusted, the promises of God are believed, the grace of God is cherished, the wrath of God is feared, the commandments of God are obeyed, humility abounds, the lost are found, repentance and gratitude flow, praise and prayer erupt, lives and communities are transformed, love and joy fill hearts, freedom and forgiveness overwhelm, barriers are broken down, the hungry are fed, marriages are restored, families are reunited, and prodigals come home!
INVISIBLE CHURCH: Lord, deepen my faith and joy in the glories of your gospel. Father, you know the multitude of sins I have committed in my life and even this past week. Help me hate my sin more and grow in grace as I contemplate what Christ has done to forgive me and free me from sin’s death grip. Open the eyes of my heart to see the glorious hope we have in Christ, your love for all of the saints, and your power at work in us who believe (Ephesians 1:18-21). Cause my heart to burn within me as we celebrate the gospel in song, learn and apply the gospel through the preached Word, and see the gospel in baptism and communion.
PILLAR: Lead Others (leader/shepherd/servant) Pray that our leaders will continuously pursue the development of their faith and that God would reveal true and honest hearts interested in furthering His kingdom through discipleship and mentoring.
PRACTICE: Luke 22:26 “But not so with you. Rather, let the greatest among you become as the youngest, and the leader as one who serves.”
