KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 8, 2023
FMC PRAYER: Lord, deepen my longing for Christ’s return. So often I pursue comfort and earthly joy in this sin-bent world when my heart should long for the return of Christ, our “blessed hope” (Titus 2:13). Help my time among your people draw me into your holy presence and show me the glories of a sin-and suffering-free eternity where we will worship you face-to-face (Revelation 21:1–4). Oh, Lord, I long for your presence and perfect restoration! Come quickly, Lord Jesus!
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 4:20-24 “But that is not the way you learned Christ!— assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.”
FMC TEAM VALUES: Value 1 – Kneel before we run: This value is listed first intentionally. Everything we do must begin from a place of desperation for and dependence on God. We have a race to run, but we must kneel in submission and devotion to God before we begin. Often ministry can become a distraction from our personal walk with the Lord. Soon we’ve sacrificed intimacy for productivity. Instead, our number one priority is to begin everything with prayer and submission flowing from a genuine heart for God.
INVISIBLE CHURCH: Lost Among Us – Lord, I lift up the lost members of our congregation. Let the gospel be presented to them not only through the sermon but also with power, the Holy Spirit and deep conviction. Teach us to make the most of every opportunity to share Your salvation. Help us to be the fragrance of Christ to them. Help us to stand against the enemy and his attempts to keep them blinded to Your truth. (1 Thes. 1:5; Col. 4:5; 2 Cor. 2:15; 2 Cor. 4:4)
PILLAR: Pillar 4. Praise and Adore God (praise/expressive/joy) Pray that our hearts would be focused on praise and worship and not on ourselves or the distractions that pull our eyes from singing loudly and boldly to our amazing Father in heaven.
MEDITATE:Psalm 47:1-2 “Clap your hands, all peoples! Shout to God with loud songs of joy! For the Lord, the Most High, is to be feared, a great king over all the earth.”
