KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 28, 2022
FMC PRAYER: Lord, lead me in building others up with the gifts and opportunities you have given me. Father, forgive me for having a “me-first/consumer” mentality at church. Help me put others first and seek to use the spiritual gifts you have graciously entrusted to me, to build up those around me. Guide me in my interactions so that others are blessed and you are glorified. Show me who to talk to, where to sit, and how to encourage others with Scripture. Help me be a channel of encouragement as we see the Day drawing near.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Luke 1: 46-49 Mary’s Song of Praise: The Magnificat
And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord, and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed; for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.”
FMC TEAM VALUES: Value 5 – Wash Windows: The heart of this value is humility and ownership. No one at FMC is too good to wash windows – or even someone else’s feet for that matter. Each FMC leader must own every piece of FMC (right down to the windows). This kind of ownership leads to excellence. If you see something and think, “Someone should do something about that,” then that someone is you! Always try to see through the eyes of a guest and never think, “That’s not my problem.” We must constantly be striving to improve the things we see around us. All of us must be willing to engage in the menial tasks down to washing our windows.
OUTREACH: A Healthy Fear of the Lord: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10
“Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in His commands.” Psalm 112:1
Pray that a healthy fear of the LORD would be the foundation on which our lives and faith are built – personally and corporately; that we would continually seek to humble ourselves under His mighty hand; that we would know that He is our wisdom, our knowledge, our delight, and that there is no greater blessing than walking in His ways.
PILLAR: Pillar 11: Build Each Other Up in Christ (exhort/affirm/encourage/peacemaker) Pray that FMC does not sit in judgement on anyone’s situation; instead, pray that our friendships would be strengthened with the wisdom and power of the Holy Spirit – as we stand beside you, no matter what you are going through.
APPLICATION: Practice: Listen and ask questions this week. Pray for those ‘hard to love’ people in your life and the encounters you will have with them. When complaints and judgements start to surface in conversation, humbly ask questions to find the source of the problem.
