KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF FEBRUARY 6, 2023
FMC PRAYER: Pray for the church. The church, quite simply, is the body of believers all around the world who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. In a world that is often very dark, may we be found faithfully praying for one another until Christ’s return. Many believers are persecuted, even killed, daily all around our world. Many are being intimidated by others around them, or are ridiculed and attacked because of their beliefs. We can be sure of this – Satan is very aware of the power of our prayers. And he will do everything he can to render us ineffective and to silence our voices. May God help us to recognize those traps and do all we can to show His love and light in this world that so desperately needs Christ’s hope and healing.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 4:4-6 “There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call – one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
FMC TEAM VALUES: Value 1 – Kneel before we run: This value is listed first intentionally. Everything we do must begin from a place of desperation for and dependence on God. We have a race to run, but we must kneel in submission and devotion to God before we begin. Often ministry can become a distraction from our personal walk with the Lord. Soon we’ve sacrificed intimacy for productivity. Instead, our number one priority is to begin everything with prayer and submission flowing from a genuine heart for God.
OUTREACH: The Growth of Individual LET’S GO Expressions: Pray that God would place within every person who calls FMC “home” the desire to be in the game! Pray that each one of us would seek to grow in every gift, giving ourselves fully to learning and honing of these 12 pillars. Pray that God would open our eyes to be the church outside of our four walls and that we would all rally around one another – encouraging, praying for and spurring one another on toward love and good deeds – for the good of those around us and for the glory of God’s great name!
PILLAR: Pillar 8. Make Godly Decisions (wisdom/knowledge/discernment/counselor/advisor) Jesus prays that His followers will all be one, and so we both pray and work for the union of the church throughout the world. Even where unity does not seem possible, we are bound to other Christians as our brothers and sisters. In Christ, and Christ alone, the dividing wall of hostility is brought down.
APPLICATION: Practice: Pray for your brothers and sisters in Christ. Specifically, think about how they are different from you. If God created people so that the rich variety of His wisdom might be reflected in the rich variety of his children, how does that lead you to act and pray?
