KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF JANUARY 2, 2023
FMC PRAYER: Lord, guide us in leadership as we faithfully shepherd those around us. Thank You Father, for the gift of the gospel message and the responsibility of being called to pass it on. Please strengthen our resolve through faith and joy in the gospel and help us to faithfully and unashamedly fulfill our ministry in shepherding the church and those around us. Give us great wisdom and direction in our every day ordinary lives, and may our example show the church and the world a glimpse of Your great love.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: 2 Cor. 5:17-21 “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
FMC TEAM VALUES: Value 9 – Take it on the Chin: As FMC team members, we’re not going to make excuses. Instead, we will own whatever feedback, criticism, or issue has arisen. We will take responsibility, apologize if needed, and act to remedy any shortcomings rather than trying to escape from ownership even in the face of problems and challenges. Not only will each of us be open to feedback and constructive criticism; we will actively invite it. And when we give feedback, we will do it with grace.
OUTREACH: For technological advances: We want to be a church who doesn’t conform to the culture around us, but rather, uses everything we possibly can to reach those in our communities as effectively as we can! Pray that we know how best to do that; pray that we know how best to come alongside those for whom technology is a challenge or frustration; pray that every heart would be softened to change when it is meant to make us more effective in obeying the Great Commission here in the Tri-State region and beyond! Pray that any technology we use never distracts, but only makes it easier and easier for us to proclaim the Gospel!
PILLAR: Pillar 3. Pray in Faith (prayer warriors/dependence on God/faith) FMC prays for the sick, the lost, the broken, the forgotten, the fallen, and the abandoned.
APPLICATION: Practice: Make it a priority to pray through these Kingdom Prayers at least once a week this coming month. They are new every Monday, so set a reminder on your phone or sign-up for the WYNTK – do what it takes to hold yourself accountable in taking this next step in your faith.
