KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF NOVEMBER 27, 2023
FMC PRAYER: Lord, we lift up Your Church in this nation. We humbly unite and confess as one people—one Church, called by Your name—that we have sinned and have messed things up immensely. We’ve operated out of acquired wealth thinking we could do it all on our own—but we are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. Forgive us, Lord, as we continually recognize our sinful ways and repent. Grow in us a longing to seek Your face, O God! Thank You for hearing and forgiving us. Heal our land and our hearts!
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: John 1:1-5
FMC ENDSTATE: Throughout the Tri-State Region & Beyond… the Glory of God is honored… Lord, we are reminded this Advent season of how important it is to keep our eyes focused on the One thing that matters – Your Glory Alone. May Your name be honored in our households as we put off everything that distracts us and draws our attention elsewhere. Thank You for the new mercies You give us each and every day, may we not waste it.
INVISIBLE CHURCH: Lord, guide our leadership in faithfully shepherding Your flock. Thank You, Lord, for the gift of pastors, teachers, and elders. Strengthen their faith and joy in the gospel and help them faithfully and unashamedly fulfill their ministry of shepherding the church and equipping the saints for ministry. Give them great wisdom and direction and may their example show the church and the world who you are. Bless the spouses and families of those leaders with great gospel joy in the ministry. Help us honor them as Your appointed shepherds who sacrifice much for the Kingdom’s sake (Hebrews 13:17).
STUDENTS: Lord, we pray for the students as they wrestle with the Truth of the gospel and the deceptive ways of this world. We ask for protection as they are constantly bombarded with social media – we pray that Your Truth would penetrate their hearts and steady their beliefs and resolve. Strengthen them as they fight the good fight of faith.
SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 4:3-5 “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”
