KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF JULY 24, 2023
FMC PRAYER: Lord, we lift up the men of FMC to You. May Your Spirit build and strengthen them as they walk out their faith this week. Draw them closer to You through the encouragement of Your Spirit and teach them what it means to be a fatherly figure as You are to us. May they love their wives sacrificially, the women in their lives respectfully, and instruct their children/co-workers with patience. Encourage them to hold each other accountable as they carry each other’s burdens; and may they speak the truth in love, even when it’s hard.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Ephesians 5:1-2
FMC TEAM VALUES: Vision: To Reach the Tri-State Region + Beyond for God’s Kingdom by making fully devoted followers of Jesus. Pray that everything we do would be done to accomplish this! Pray that we would be willing to lay aside anything that hinders us in accomplishing this vision. Pray for the faith to follow the Spirit’s lead, keeping in step with Him each day, personally and corporately.
INVISIBLE CHURCH: Lord, help me worship you with an undistracted heart. You know how my mind wanders to my upcoming week, present worries, and thoughts of others and other things. Help me throw those worries aside and focus on You and Your glory alone. May Your Spirit cause my heart, soul, mind, and strength to exalt Your Holy Name in my words, my thoughts, and my interactions with others, today and every day hereafter.
PILLAR: Pillar 3. Pray in Faith (prayer warriors/dependence on God/faith) Pray that God would cultivate in your heart an honest desire for prayer; that the Spirit would open your eyes to see and communicate with Him on a daily basis. May your heart be set on fire with the words and wisdom of the Gospel and the humble honesty of your need for God’s leadership and guidance in your life.
PRACTICE: Matthew 6:5-8 “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
