KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF AUGUST 22, 2022
Let this be a guide as your pray throughout the week – do not simply read through this and agree, but intentionally reflect on how these things can/will reveal Christ’s Kingdom more and more, here on earth.
FMC PRAYER: that God’s kingdom come – the focus on his eternal will (“your kingdom come”)
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Eph 3: 1-6 “For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner of Christ Jesus on behalf of you Gentiles— assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given to me for you, how the mystery was made known to me by revelation, as I have written briefly. When you read this, you can perceive my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to the sons of men in other generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit. This mystery is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel.”
FMC TEAM VALUES: Value 4 – Embrace the hill: Runners often dread hills along their route and most view them as a place to slow down. But a healthy, well-trained runner sees the hill as an opportunity to pass people and actually take ground. We want our team to function in this way. We should expect all kinds of challenges and opposition as we strive to accomplish our God-given vision. When those times come, we will choose to have a joyful mindset that is motivated by challenge rather than dismayed by it.
OUTREACH: A Healthy Fear of the Lord: “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10 “Praise the LORD! Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in His commands.” Psalm 112:1
Pray that a healthy fear of the LORD would be the foundation on which our lives and faith are built – personally and corporately; that we would continually seek to humble ourselves under His mighty hand; that we would know that He is our wisdom, our knowledge, our delight, and that there is no greater blessing than walking in His ways.
PILLAR: Pillar 9: Serve Others (helper/service/healing) Pray for the conversations and interactions that will be happening this weekend at the car cruise event. Pray that those who come onto our campus would know and feel the love of Christ on display and that we would serve one another humbly, joyfully, and extravagantly.
SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 6:10 – “For God is not unjust so as to overlook your work and the love that you have shown for his name in serving the saints, as you still do.”
