KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE
WEEK OF DECEMBER 16, 2024
FMC PRAYER: Lord, this week we lift up Your servant, our pastor, David Lyle, to You in prayer. Thank You for his servant’s heart. Encourage him and keep him from losing heart when ministry gets tough. Help him prove faithful with the things You have entrusted to him. Teach him Your ways so that he knows You and finds favor with You as He leads us. Keep him open and honest before You and help him to represent the Truth plainly through his words and actions.
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Metanoia – Repentance 3 ~ Acts 2:14-41
FMC ENDSTATE: Throughout the Tri-State Region & Beyond…the wrath of God is feared…in awe and reverence, we come before You, Lord – acknowledging Your holiness and majesty. We know that Your justice is perfect and true…yet, in our frailty, we tremble at the thought of facing Your righteous anger and feeling the weight our sins.
Thank You for the immeasurable love that compelled Your One and Only Son to bear the full weight of our sins upon the cross. In His sacrifice, we see the manifestation of Your mercy and grace, pouring out redemption and forgiveness upon undeserving souls like ours.
May Your Spirit continually remind us of the price that was paid for our redemption, that we may walk in gratitude and obedience all the days of our lives.
ADVENT FOCUS: Heavenly Father, in this season of Advent, we are reminded of Peter’s bold call to repentance and baptism after the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for his testimony. The denial, the repentance, and the transformation that happened because of a surrendered heart. Strengthen our resolve on the importance of preaching the gospel message of Christ. Open our eyes this week to see and respond to the many opportunities we have to make disciples and build relationships for Your Kingdom and Your Glory’s sake.
May this Advent season be one of deep spiritual renewal where we encounter You in the silence, the conversation, the repentance, and the full expectation of Your return.
STUDENTS: Lord, we pray for the students as they wrestle with the Truth of the gospel and the deceptive ways of this world. We ask for protection as they are constantly bombarded with social media – we pray that Your Truth would penetrate their hearts and steady their beliefs and resolve. Strengthen them as they fight the good fight of faith.
SCRIPTURE: 2 Timothy 4:3-5 “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.”
CARE: Lord, please bless our OWLS (outstanding wise lovable seniors) in their every day ordinary lives – with companionship, health, happiness, and JOY in their golden years. We are all in different stages of life – and this week, may we marvel and appreciate the beauty of Your plan in uniting us all under the sacrifice and love of Your Son. May Your OWLS always feel valued and cherished for the wisdom they carry. As we think of them, we ask that You grant them the strength to continue their journey with dignity, grace, and patience. Thank You for our OWLS Lord – may Your glory shine in their lives each and every day until they are called home – to Your glorious name be all the praise.
