KINGDOM PRAYERS FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 3, 2024
FMC PRAYER: Lord, we lift up our Kingdom focus and eternal priorities as a congregation to You this week. Give us ears to hear what Your Spirit is saying to Four Mile Church. Open our eyes to see things as You see them. Help us move beyond issues of immediate need to pursuing Kingdom issues with a Kingdom focus. Bring us to a place where we daily say and believe these words: “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”
SUNDAY’S SCRIPTURE: Numbers 13:39-45 ~ Going without the Lord
FMC ENDSTATE: Throughout the Tri-State Region & Beyond…the goodness of God is relished…O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!
You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of Your foes, to still the enemy and the avenger.
When I look at Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars, which You have set in place,
what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You care for him?
Yet You have made him a little lower than the heavenly beings and crowned him with glory and honor.
You have given him dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field, the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes along the paths of the seas.
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! (PS8)
God you are a good good Father and we can see Your works on display everywhere we look. You are the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, and yet You chose to make US in Your image and call us Your sons and daughters. Pierce our hearts to relish in that knowledge this week when we selfishly desire worldly pleasures.
INVISIBLE CHURCH: Lord, may our love greatly adorn the gospel. Father, Your Son said that the love we have for our brothers and sisters will proclaim to the world that we are Your disciples (John 13:34–35). Please deepen our love for one another and make us eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit (Ephesians 4:1-3). Help us care for all, not showing favoritism. May love compel us to strengthen the weak, bind up the injured, and serve patiently as we remember our service to others is service to You (Matthew 25:31–46). Help us model Your unfathomable love for us in our honoring of one another, and so prove to the watching world that Christ has risen and reigns.
STUDENTS: Health (physical) Lord, wherever our students interact with their peers, we pray that You would protect them from any illness and its effects. Father, our bodies are good gifts, wonderfully made, and we pray that You would guard their health, for their protection and the protection of those around them.
SCRIPTURE: Psalm 139:14 “I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are Your works; my soul knows it very well.”
CARE: God Almighty – Your eternal throne sits high above the dirt and decay of the world You have made, and yet – You choose to live among us, dwelling in our hearts and minds, acting through our fingers, toes, and voices. Your people are continually lost in the wilderness and we humbly fall face down before You now – asking You to once again heal our brokenness and lead us back to the promised land. Your Spirit has clothed us in garments that do not decay, so we ask that You would bring warmth and peace to those who desperately need Your physical touch today. In Your Son’s blessed name – we ask all these things. Amen.
