Adult Community Fellowship
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25
Because community is such a vital part of spiritual growth, we have developed two different options for group life at Four Mile. These options are designed to help you grow deeper in your love for God and others in the way that works best for you.
Group Life Options:
Growth Groups – Made up of 6 to 12 people, these groups study a particular aspect of spiritual growth or theology for 6 to 8 weeks. These groups meet either in someone’s home or at the church. They are designed to be short-term and therefore ideal for those who are exploring group life or unable to commit to a longer term group.
Community Groups – Also made up of 6 to 12 people, these groups function similarly to traditional small groups. The members of community groups make longer term time commitments to encourage deeper fellowship and mutual support. The unique curriculum for these groups is sermon-based, allowing group members to engage further into the meaning of the message and apply it to everyday life. While study is an important aspect of group life, community groups focus more on relationships and mutual care. Community groups commonly stay together for several years and play vital roles in many other areas within the Four Mile community. They also commonly help expand group life by launching new groups from within and by inviting new members into a sense of friendship and family that is supremely rewarding and commonly life-altering.
No matter which group you choose, they meet either weekly or bi-weekly for one and half hours on a day that works for the group members.
